With the closure of Uluru fast approaching, the rush has started to climb Australia’s most famous, and favourite natural wonder.
As the queue stretched for hundreds of metres, it was duly noted that most of the people lining up where indeed white, or from another country.
When asked if they thought it was disrespectful, they would promptly reply with “it’s just a rock”. So we were quite bemused with them having traveled all that way and line up for hours to climb “just a rock”.
In a strange twist it was noted on the last day before the climb closes, that high winds have temporarily shut the climb due to safety reasons.
A shame for all the people who have traveled all that way to climb “just a rock”.
